1. Course Overview

The MBBS program at GMC Eluru follows the latest Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. 2. Course Duration & Structure

• Total Duration: 5.5 years.

• Academic Years: 4.5 years of formal study divided into:

  • Second Prof: Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology.

  • Third Prof (Part I): Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology.

• Internship: 1 year of Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) at the Government General Hospital, Eluru.

3. Eligibility Criteria

• Age: Minimum 17 years by December 31st of the year of admission.

• Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

• Minimum Marks: 50% aggregate in PCB subjects (40% for SC/ST/BC).

• Entrance Exam: Mandatory qualification in the NEET-UG national entrance examination.

4. Admission Process

• Counselling: Seats are filled through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% All India Quota and Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences for 85% State Quota.

• Merit-Based: Selection is based purely on the NEET-UG rank and the preferences submitted during counseling.

• Reporting: Final admission is confirmed after document verification and medical fitness evaluation at the college.
