1. Course Overview
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), or “Ayurvedacharya,” is a professional undergraduate degree that integrates the deep-rooted traditional knowledge of Ashtanga Ayurveda with essential modern medical sciences. The curriculum at MADAC is designed to produce proficient physicians and research scholars who are well-versed in classical Ayurvedic texts like the Charaka Samhita while being fully competent in modern diagnostic tools, Anatomy, Physiology, and Surgery.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a 5.5-year integrated course, strictly following the NCISM guidelines:

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of classroom instruction, smart-class learning, and advanced laboratory practicals divided into professional phases.

Compulsory Internship: 1 Year of mandatory rotatory residential internship. Students apply their skills in the college’s attached 250-bed multispecialty hospital, gaining hands-on clinical experience in various specialized departments.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates for the 2026-27 academic session must fulfill the following requirements:

Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and English.

Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in PCB for General/EWS category candidates (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Maharashtra).

Entrance Exam: Mandatory qualification in the NEET-UG 2026 exam with a valid percentile.
