1. Course Overview
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), or “Ayurvedacharya,” is a comprehensive professional undergraduate degree. The curriculum at IIARH is designed to bridge the gap between classical Ayurvedic scriptures (Samhitas) and contemporary medical sciences. Students master the principles of Ashtanga Ayurveda while studying modern subjects such as Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Surgery, preparing them to be holistic and evidence-based healthcare practitioners.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a 5.5-year residential course, strictly adhering to the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) guidelines:

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of classroom instruction, advanced laboratory practicals, and clinical observations divided into professional years.
