1. Course Overview
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a comprehensive professional degree (Ayurvedacharya). The curriculum focuses on developing a deep understanding of Ashtanga Ayurveda (the eight branches of Ayurveda) alongside modern medical sciences to produce competent healthcare professionals.
Key areas of focus include:

Ayurvedic Fundamentals: Study of Sanskrit, Padartha Vigyan (Fundamental Principles), and Kriya Sharir (Physiology).

Clinical Specialties: Advanced training in Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine), Shalya Tantra (Surgery), and Panchakarma (Bio-purification).

Modern Medicine Integration: Comprehensive learning in Anatomy, Physiology, and modern diagnostic techniques.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The program follows the national standardized structure:

Total Duration: 5.5 Years.

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of classroom and laboratory instruction, divided into three professional phases (1.5 years each).

Compulsory Internship: 1 Year of mandatory rotatory clinical internship. Students rotate through various OPD and IPD departments in the college’s attached 101-bed multispecialty hospital.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Prospective students must meet the following standardized requirements:

Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Science Stream) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).

Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in PCB for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Gujarat).

Entrance Exam: Mandatory qualification in the NEET-UG of the current academic year.

Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31st of the year of admission.
4. Admission Process
Admissions are merit-based and follow the centralized state counseling process:

NEET Qualification: Secure a valid rank and meet the qualifying percentile in NEET-UG.

State Counselling Registration: Register on the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) portal for Gujarat Ayush NEET Counselling.

Seat Allotment: Allocation is based on NEET rank, category reservation, and available intake (100 seats).
