The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a comprehensive professional undergraduate degree. The program at SMCA&H is designed to produce “Ayurvedacharyas” who possess a profound understanding of classical Sanskrit treatises alongside contemporary medical sciences. 2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a 5.5-year commitment, structured as follows:

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of theoretical and practical instruction, divided into professional phases.

Compulsory Internship: 1 Year of mandatory rotatory residential internship. During this period, students work in the college’s hospital and other recognized health centers to gain hands-on clinical experience in patient care.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following standardized requirements:

Academic Qualification: Must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects.
