1. Course Overview
The primary professional degree offered is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), also known as “Ayurvedacharya.” The course curriculum is a balanced integration of ancient Ayurvedic scriptures and modern medical sciences.
Key areas of focus include:

Samhita Siddhanta: Study of classical texts like Charaka Samhita.

Rachana Sharir & Kriya Sharir: Ayurvedic and modern perspectives on Anatomy and Physiology.

2. Course Duration & Structure
The program follows the NCISM unified national guidelines:

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years, divided into three professional phases (1.5 years each).

Compulsory Internship: 1 Year of mandatory rotatory residential internship. Students rotate through clinical departments in the attached government hospital to gain real-world experience.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following regulatory requirements:

Academic: 10+2 (Science) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and English.

Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in PCB for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates of J&K).

5. Medium of Instruction
The primary medium of instruction and examination is English. However, Hindi and Sanskrit are used for studying original classical texts. Sanskrit is a compulsory subject in the first professional year.
