1. Course Overview
The Faculty of Ayurveda at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), is one of India’s most prestigious and oldest centers for Ayurvedic education. Tracing its roots back to 1922, the faculty offers a premier Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) program. 2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a full-time residential course:

3. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and English as mandatory subjects.

Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in PCB for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC).

5. Medium of Instruction
The primary medium of instruction is English, with supplementary use of Hindi. As BHU maintains a traditional academic heritage, Sanskrit is a compulsory subject in the first professional year to enable students to study original Samhitas (classical scriptures).
