The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), or “Ayurvedacharya,” is a comprehensive professional undergraduate degree. At the Faculty of Ayurveda, the curriculum is structured to bridge the profound study of Ashtanga Ayurveda (the eight branches of Ayurveda) with essential modern medical sciences. Students master original Ayurvedic scriptures (Samhitas) while simultaneously gaining clinical proficiency in contemporary subjects like Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Surgery, enabling them to become versatile and integrated healthcare practitioners.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a 5.5-year residential course, strictly adhering to the unified national guidelines set by the NCISM:
