1. Course Overview
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), or “Ayurvedacharya,” is a comprehensive professional undergraduate degree. The curriculum at Sai Ayurved College is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of Ashtanga Ayurveda (the eight branches of Ayurveda) alongside integrated modern medical sciences. Students gain in-depth knowledge of original Ayurvedic scriptures (Samhitas) while simultaneously studying contemporary subjects like Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Surgery, preparing them to be holistic and scientific healthcare practitioners.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a 5.5-year residential course, strictly following the NCISM (National Commission for Indian System of Medicine) guidelines:

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and clinical observations divided into professional phases.

Compulsory Internship: 1 Year of mandatory rotatory residential internship. Students apply their knowledge in a clinical setting at the college’s attached on-campus hospital, which features a renowned Panchakarma department and various specialized OPD/IPDs.
