1. Course Overview
Smt. Kamaladevi Gauridutt Mittal Punarvasu Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, located in the heart of Mumbai, is one of the city’s most prestigious and oldest institutions dedicated to Ayurvedic education. Established in 1954, the college blends traditional wisdom with modern diagnostic advancements. The BAMS program here is designed to provide a deep understanding of the core Ayurvedic texts (Samhitas) alongside contemporary medical subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology, preparing students to become skilled integrated healthcare professionals.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a comprehensive 5.5-year course:

Academic Phase (4.5 Years): Divided into professional years covering Ayurvedic philosophy, pharmacology (Dravyaguna), toxicology, surgery (Shalya Tantra), and internal medicine (Kayachikitsa).

Compulsory Internship (1 Year): A mandatory rotatory clinical internship at the attached Smt. KG Mittal Ayurvedic Hospital and other recognized medical centers to gain hands-on patient care experience.
3. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and English as a core subject.

Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in PCB (40% for reserved category candidates).

Entrance Exam: A valid qualifyng score in the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is mandatory.

Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31st of the admission year.
