1. Course Overview

The BAMS program at Sri Sairam is designed to provide students with a robust foundation in traditional Ayurvedic principles while incorporating essential modern medical sciences. 2. Course Duration & Structure

The program is a full-time residential course lasting 5.5 years:

• Academic Phases (4.5 Years): The study is divided into three professional phases (1.5 years each). Subjects include Padartha Vigyan (Philosophy), Rachana Sharir (Anatomy), Dravyaguna (Pharmacology), Shalya Tantra (Surgery), and Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine).

• Compulsory Rotatory Internship (1 Year): A mandatory 12-month clinical training at the attached 60-bed NABH-accredited Sairam Ayurveda Hospital, allowing students to gain practical experience in various OPD and IPD units.

3. Eligibility Criteria

• Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the year of admission.

• Education: Completion of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

• Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in PCB (40% for reserved categories).

• Entrance Exam: Qualification in the NEET-UG of the current academic year is mandatory.

4. Admission Process

Admissions are merit-based and follow the Tamil Nadu State Government norms:

1. NEET-UG: Appear and qualify in the national entrance exam.

2. Counseling: Register for the TN AYUSH Counseling (State Quota) or apply through the Management Quota.

3. Seat Allotment: 65% of seats are filled via the Government Quota and 35% via the Management Quota.

4. Verification: Shortlisted candidates must report to the college for document verification and final admission.

5. Medium of Instruction

The primary medium of instruction is English. Sanskrit is also taught as a compulsory subject during the first professional year to help students understand classical Ayurvedic texts (Samhitas).
