1. Course Overview
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), or “Ayurvedacharya,” is a professional undergraduate degree that integrates traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with contemporary medical sciences. The curriculum at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Ayurvedic College is designed to produce skilled physicians proficient in Ashtanga Ayurveda while being conversant with modern diagnostic and surgical techniques. Students explore classical texts alongside modern Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Forensic Medicine.
2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a 5.5-year integrated course, strictly following NCISM guidelines:

Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of classroom instruction and advanced laboratory practicals divided into professional years.

Compulsory Internship: 1 Year of mandatory rotatory residential internship. Students apply their skills in the college’s attached multispecialty hospital, gaining hands-on experience in specialized Ayurvedic and modern clinical departments.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates for the 2026-27 academic session must meet the following requirements:

Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects and English.
