1. Course Overview

The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), or “Ayurvedacharya,” is a comprehensive professional undergraduate degree. At DIMS, the curriculum is designed to provide a profound understanding of Ashtanga Ayurveda (the eight branches of Ayurveda) alongside integrated modern medical subjects such as Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, and Surgery. The program emphasizes both classical textual knowledge (Samhitas) and practical clinical skills to develop competent Ayurvedic physicians.

2. Course Duration & Structure

The BAMS program is a 5.5-year professional course, strictly following the NCISM unified guidelines:

  • Academic Phase: 4.5 Years of classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and clinical observations.
