1. Course Overview
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at the School of Ayurveda & Siddha Studies is a distinguished professional program under the Sri Satya Sai University of Technology and Medical Sciences (SSSUTMS). The course is uniquely structured to provide a deep understanding of the “Science of Life” by blending the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and Siddha with contemporary medical sciences. 2. Course Duration & Structure
The BAMS program is a full-time course spanning a total of 5.5 years:

Academic Curriculum (4.5 Years): Divided into professional phases as per NCISM norms. Students study core subjects including Kriya Sharir (Physiology), Rachana Sharir (Anatomy), Dravyaguna (Pharmacology), Rasa Shastra (Iatrochemistry), and clinical branches like Shalya Tantra (Surgery) and Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine).

Compulsory Internship (1 Year): A mandatory 12-month rotational residency at the university’s multi-specialty Ayurvedic hospital. This phase is critical for gaining hands-on clinical experience in patient diagnosis and Panchakarma therapies.
3. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for admission at SSSUTMS, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as mandatory subjects.

Minimum Marks: Obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in PCB for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC).

Entrance Exam: Mandatory qualification in the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for the current academic year.

Age: Minimum 17 years of age on or before December 31st of the year of admission.

Admission is conducted through a centralized, merit-based counseling system:

State/Central Counseling: Register for the counseling process conducted by the Directorate of AYUSH, Madhya Pradesh (for state seats) or AACCC (for university-level quotas).

5. Medium of Instruction
The primary medium of instruction is English, with supplementary use of Hindi for clinical communication. Sanskrit is taught as a compulsory subject to enable students to study original classical texts (Samhitas).
